Shanghai Circus World is renowned as the China's premier Circus World. It integrates acrobatic, circus, magic, dancing and music performances. The territory of 2,2500 square kilometers at Gonghe Xin Lu Road, incorporates Acrobatic Field as its main body, Rehearsal Auxiliary Building, Animal House and Cultural and Commercial city as side installations.
Acrobatic Field has 1,638 seats, with state-of-the-art equipment, modern computer-controlled lighting facilities, multi track and stereo sound systems. A revolving stage, an lifting stage and picture-frame stage are set up here. The establishment has creative decorations, a breakthrough of the traditional style. Acrobatic Field has great acoustics and can be used for general music performances.
Animals House is a giant building with the area of around 1,540 square kilometers. It has rooms for elephants, chimps, horses, giant pandas and some dangerous beasts as tigers and lions. The building is equipped by all possible up-to-date facilities.
Cultural and Commercial City is used mainly for acrobatic and circus exhibitions and international events. Shanghai Acrobatic Troupe is considered among the best in China. Since its first opening Shanghai Circus had more than 800 performances. The place held the closing ceremony for 1999 Shanghai Tourism Festival.
